On November 23, 2024, Lotus 8 Esports had the privilege of participating in the MSEA Rocket League Fall Split Provincials at Daniel Mac Collegiate in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This event brought together passionate students, teachers, and parents, and we were thrilled to share our mission of promoting wellness in gaming through our PMM program: Performance Mindset Mindfulness.

Promoting Wellness in Gaming

During the event, we introduced attendees to PMM, a program designed to help gamers enhance their performance and overall well-being. PMM combines:

• Performance Meditation: Helping players maintain focus and composure during intense matches.
• Fitness and Conditioning: Encouraging physical health to complement mental agility.
• Mental Health Workshops: Providing tools and techniques to manage stress and improve resilience.
• Mindfulness Training: Teaching practices that foster calmness and clarity, both in and out of the game.

It was inspiring to engage with students, teachers, and parents, answering questions and demonstrating how a holistic approach can elevate not only gaming performance but also personal growth.

A Clash of Titans: Show Match Highlights

One of the event's highlights was the exhilarating show match between our Tier 1 Rocket League team and the University of Illinois varsity team. This game wasn’t just about competition; it was an opportunity to showcase how professional and semi-professional players communicate and perform under high-pressure scenarios. The audience got a glimpse into the teamwork, strategy, and mental toughness that define the journey from “bubble pro” to professional esports.

Raffle Excitement

To add a bit of extra excitement to the day, we hosted a raffle exclusively for the students. With gift cards up for grabs, we saw plenty of smiles and heard plenty of cheers as the winners were announced.
