Lotus 8 Takes the Stage at the MSEA Rocket League Provincial Championships At Kelvin High School

On November 29, Lotus 8 Esports had the honour of attending the MSEA Rocket League Provincial Championships, one of the most important scholastic esports events in Manitoba. The event brought together some of the province’s top student competitors, coaches, and educators—celebrating not only competitive excellence, but the growth of esports in schools.

What made this event especially meaningful for Lotus 8 was the opportunity for our professional Call of Duty: Warzone team to step on stage and speak directly to students across Manitoba.

Sharing the Reality of the Pro Journey

Going pro in esports isn’t just about talent—it’s about discipline, resilience, and taking care of yourself. On stage, our players shared their real experiences: the highs of qualifying on the world stage, the lows of setbacks and losses, and the daily grind that most people never see.

We spoke honestly about:

  • The pressure of competition

  • Dealing with losses and self-doubt

  • Staying consistent when motivation drops

  • Managing stress, burnout, and expectations

For many students, this was the first time hearing a transparent and unfiltered perspective on what it truly takes to pursue esports at a high level.

Mental Health Is Part of Being a Pro

A core message we emphasized was simple but powerful:
You cannot perform at your best if you don’t take care of your mental health.

Our team spoke about the importance of:

  • Sleep and routine

  • Emotional regulation under pressure

  • Healthy habits on and off the screen

  • Asking for support when needed

  • Building balance between gaming, school, and life

This message aligns directly with Lotus 8’s Performance Mindset & Meditation (PMM) philosophy—where mental wellness is not separate from performance, but a key pillar of it.
